Strength and Courage

Here is a verse I want to share with you – it really gave me pause to think.  It takes both strength and courage to endure and to recover from trauma.  Some days it’s so easy to feel close to giving up.  Don’t…  Hang in there stubbornly.  Read on this site and find ways to shift your situation into an endurable one.  The sun does peek out from behind the clouds, even after the heaviest storm.  Eventually, it shines brilliantly.  Nature just can’t help it?

roseIt takes strength to be firm,
It takes courage to be gentle,
It takes strength to stand guard,
It takes courage to let down your gard,
It takes strength to conquer,
It takes courage to surrender,
It takes strength to be certain,
It takes courage to have doubt,
It takes strength to fit in,
It takes courage to stand out,
It takes strength to feel a friend’s pain,
It tales courage to feel your own pain,
It takes strength to hide your own pains,
It takes courage to show them,
It takes strength to endure abuse,
It takes courage to stop it,
It takes strength to stand alone,
It takes courage to lean on another,
It takes strength to love,
It takes courage to be loved,
It takes strength to survive,
It takes courage to live.

51CvLG12+7LA good night’s sleep is SO important!

It seems almost too simple but now, after a 3 year fight against all the other side effects of chemotherapy and endless doctors’ appointments, it’s an urgent need for sleep that’s the last major – very major as it happens – hurdle for my friend who has survived cancer.  It’s an ongoing problem too – for me and for countless others who have survived the acute phase of their trauma and now have to rebuild their lives and sustain that fragile health for years to come.

rebounderThese products will help – plus Melatonin 5-6 mg a night taken at bedtime (because we need this to sleep and not only does it decline naturally after age 25 but it also seems to be interrupted by trauma.  You should find it at your local pharmacy or health food store – I will check out a source.  A good pillow is priceless and a few minutes(as long as you can manage, either standing or bouncing) on this rebounder like this one – which can be delivered to your door and is a very competitive price.  Here is something else too that has been indispensible for me.  While your body is already ‘busy’ rebuilding, people often seem to have a reduced immunity and fragile health.  sota-silver-pulserI have been using this device for nearly a year now and not once have I been sick.  A friend of mine has just started using it and the kidney infections that she was getting repeatedly seem to have abated and the extra energy may be what is helping her to walk more strongly.  I’ll report on her progress as the months go by.  So far it looks very encouraging!
